Damian Dalla Torre is an eclectic Italian artist based in Germany, who specialises in a unique brand of Avant-Garde folk. His latest single, ‘7:23’, is an impressive tune that allows the slow, wavy atmosphere of his ethereal loops to blend with the eventually quite driving drum pattern that contrasts the guitar’s rhythm. He says that it “is based on a sample of a fire crackling stove that I recorded on a cold winter morning in the Italian alps. 7:23 am was usually the time i got up, made fire, brewed some coffee, and started to work on music. I tried to catch the mood of the moment.” He has just announced his debut solo album, Happy Floating, which is dropping on February 25^th, 2022. -Dan Peeke
